ARCA and Local Action Groups secure Climate Fund financing to implement actions under Life eCOadapt50
With the aim of promoting actions to help the most vulnerable rural sectors adapt to climate change within the framework of the Life eCOadapt50 project, the Association of Rural and Maritime Initiatives of Catalonia (ARCA) and nine Local Action Groups (LAGs), along with GALP Costa Brava, have received a grant of €3,013,647.20 from the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition of the Government of Catalonia, funded by the Catalan Climate Fund for the period 2024–2030.
Cabres

The project, titled “Climate change adaptation in the agricultural, livestock, forestry, fishing, and tourism sectors in Catalonia”, receives this financial support to complement and implement adaptation actions and action plans in seven territories coordinated by LAGs. It also includes actions in other territories led by ARCA-associated LAGs not directly involved in Life eCOadapt50, but which have included climate adaptation strategies in their Local Development Strategies.

By 2030, these territories will implement at least 30 demonstrative actions aligned with Life eCOadapt50, along with complementary initiatives. The results will be shared with other regions to encourage replication.

The grant recipients are:

  • GALP Costa Brava
  • ADRINOC (Northeastern Catalonia)
  • Leader de Ponent
  • Leader Ripollès Ges Bisaura
  • Catalunya Central Rural Development Association
  • Western Pyrenees Leader Consortium
  • Camp Rural Development Consortium
  • Catalunya Central Development Consortium
  • Alt Urgell-Cerdanya LAG Consortium
  • Noguera – Segrià Nord LAG Consortium

The territorial network of LAGs ensures the participation of local stakeholders in decision-making and implementation. This bottom-up approach helps ensure that the prioritized climate adaptation actions are the most relevant for addressing the specific risks and vulnerabilities identified in each territory.
