The day will begin with an opening session led by Núria Parpal, director of the Life eCOadapt50 project at the Barcelona Provincial Council, and Jordi Vilalta, manager of the Central Catalonia Leader Consortium. They will welcome participants and outline the general objectives of this new Horizon eCOadapt50 conference series, conceived as a meeting point for public administrations, academia, professionals and local initiatives.
One of the key moments of the morning will be a forward-looking debate on the horizons and challenges facing tourism in the context of the climate emergency, with contributions from experts in tourism, territory, sustainability and eco-social transition, moderated by Raül Valls (Alba Sud).
After the coffee break, the programme will continue with two sessions showcasing inspiring experiences, highlighting projects and initiatives related to regenerative tourism, heritage enhancement, mobility and tourist flows, and climate-resilient tourism governance, as well as cases linked to coastal and marine tourism. Speakers will include representatives from the Catalan Tourist Board (Regenera4MED), the HYDROSCOPIA network, EcoDataNatura, Gratitud Pallars, Tourism Services of the Barcelona Provincial Council, ECOUNION, and the Territori de Masies project. In the plenary session, Raül Valls from Alba Sud will present the main conclusions of the meeting.
The day will conclude with a field visit to the winery and artisanal cheese dairy at the Santuari del Miracle, guided by Jordi Molner and Sílvia Soler, offering first-hand insight into examples of economic resilience, high-quality agri-food production, and the links between tourism, landscape and food sovereignty.
Participants in the meeting—conceived as a reference space to rethink the future of tourism from a climatic, territorial and social perspective—will also have the option to take part in a communal dinner and a guided tour of the historical and cultural heritage of the city of Solsona.
