The Life eCOadapt50 Steering Committee reviews the project’s progress after its first year and a half
On December 5, the Steering Committee of the Life eCOadapt50 project met at the headquarters of the Tarragona Provincial Council, with around twenty participants, to review the project’s progress during its first 18 months. The session was opened by Carme Ferrer, Deputy for Environment, Public Health and Territory at the Tarragona Provincial Council, and Marc Serra, Deputy for Climate Action and Energy Transition at the Barcelona Provincial Council and political lead of the project.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present the main activities carried out in 2024, the project’s budget execution status as of June 2024, and especially to discuss the challenges and work planned for 2025.

The session also included a presentation of the climate vulnerability assessments developed within the project by the Catalan Office for Climate Change of the Government of Catalonia. The analysis was based on data from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the territorial distribution provided by the Catalan Meteorological Service, using projections for the Pyrenean, inland, and coastal/pre-coastal zones.

In addition, the coordination between the various Living Labs established in the project’s territories was discussed. These are progressing at different paces depending on the dynamics of each region. Some of the actions already underway were also presented.

Finally, the meeting addressed the structure and role of the Technical Advisory Council and introduced the main elements of the project’s Replicability Plan.
