The key role of local authorities in integrating climate change adaptation, first webinar dedicated to public administration
The seventh webinar organised by the Life eCOadapt50 project focused on the key role of local authorities in integrating climate change adaptation into public policies and plans. The session, held online on 27 May, presented the project and enabled the more than 110 participating local authorities to understand what the project can offer them and what is expected of them over the more than four years ahead, especially in the specific task of integrating climate change adaptation into their policies and public plans.

During the webinar, local authorities also received support to complete the climate change adaptation survey they have been asked to fill in before 31 July 2026. This survey will help assess the current state of adaptation integration in local policies, identify needs and guide future support actions for local authorities.

This first webinar dedicated to the public administration sector helped raise awareness of the project within this sector, facilitated the sharing of questions and experiences among participants, and reinforced the role of public administrations as key agents in promoting more resilient territories, within a training programme that aims to build capacity across different sectors and support decision-making in response to climate challenges.
