The Life eCOadapt50 project takes part in the European meeting on strategic climate action projects - Life eCOadapt50

Participants at the Bilbao meeting
The meeting forms part of the platform meetings promoted by the European Commission and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), and was organised by the Life IP Urban Klima 2050 project and the public company Ihobe of the Basque Government, with the aim of serving as a space for work, exchange and joint learning among strategic climate action projects.
Within this framework, Life eCOadapt50 shared its experience in territory-based climate adaptation, highlighting the participatory and co-creation approach of the project, as well as the actions developed during the first three years, as detailed in this video.
The meeting made it possible to build alliances, identify opportunities for replicability and gather lessons learned from other LIFE initiatives with well-established trajectories. With this participation, Life eCOadapt50 consolidates its presence in European climate coordination spaces, contributes practical knowledge and helps to accelerate climate action through solid, cooperative projects focused on concrete results for the territory.
The programme of the meeting combined technical sessions —on governance, financing and the deployment of climate policies— with field visits to actions in Bermeo, Bakio and Bilbao, which showed practical examples of urban planning and nature-based solutions.
Finally, the Life platform meeting represented an opportunity for direct contact between the projects, CINEA and the policy units of the European Commission. Along these lines, the discussions helped to highlight the challenges and opportunities encountered by projects during their implementation and to provide valuable information to improve EU policies and the Life Programme, just as this year marks the tenth anniversary of the programme’s strategic and integrated projects.
