Life-IP NAdapta-CC and Life eCOadapt50 projects seek synergies
Representatives of the Life-IP NAdapta-CC and Life eCOadapt50 projects held a virtual meeting on Friday, March 21, to share experiences and explore synergies that could enhance the work of the entities and stakeholders involved in both initiatives.

The meeting included Núria Parpal, Head of the Local Environmental Planning Section at the Barcelona Provincial Council and Director of the Life eCOadapt50 project, representing this initiative, as well as Joël Dozzi from GAN-NIK, Itziar Almarcegui, and Miguel Ángel González Moreno from the Environmental Department of the Government of Navarre, who are part of the coordination team for the Navarrese project.

Núria Parpal explained that eCOadapt50 is an integrated European project for climate change adaptation funded by the Life programme. It is led by the Climate Action and Energy Transition Area of the Barcelona Provincial Council and involves 25 partners. The project focuses on co-creating strategic action for climate change adaptation in local territories and economies across 19 areas of Catalonia.

It is an 8-year project (2023–2030), whose main goal is to promote climate change adaptation through the involvement of social and economic stakeholders in identifying key climate vulnerabilities and proposing solutions to become more resilient. The development of eCOadapt50 supports the implementation of both the ELACC and the ESCACC30.

As for Life-IP NAdapta-CC, its main objective is to increase resilience to climate change in Navarre through cross-sectoral collaboration, long-term sustainability, participation, and networking. It contributes to the implementation of all actions outlined in the Climate Change Roadmap (HCCN-KLINa).

This is also an 8-year project (2017–2025), concluding this year with a budget of over €15.5 million, more than €9 million of which is funded by Life. Its areas of work include climate change monitoring and adaptive management in agriculture and livestock, water, forests, health, infrastructure, and landscape.
