The event will bring together representatives from public administrations, technical staff, experts and local stakeholders to share experiences and learn about initiatives that help strengthen the resilience of ecosystems and socioeconomic activities in the face of climate-related challenges.
Organised within the framework of the Life eCOadapt50 project, the conference aims to highlight the role of nature as a key ally in climate change adaptation. Throughout the day, participants will discuss strategies and projects demonstrating how conservation, restoration and the sustainable management of natural areas can help reduce territorial vulnerability to increasingly frequent and intense phenomena such as droughts, extreme heat events, torrential rainfall and flooding.
The programme includes keynote presentations, panel discussions and practical case studies that will showcase solutions implemented across different sectors and territories. The conference is also intended as a platform for exchange and collaboration among institutions, organisations and economic sectors involved in climate adaptation.
Speakers include leading experts such as Carles Ibáñez, Director of Eurecat’s Climate Resilience Centre, who will address the role of nature-based solutions; Anna Marín (CREAF), who will present an overview of the actions carried out within the LIFE eCOadapt50 project; and a round-table discussion featuring Annelies Broekman (CREAF), Sandra Carrera (Xarxa per la Conservació de la Natura) and Stephanie N. Merbt (CSIC).
The conference will also showcase practical experiences related to coastal habitat restoration, the renaturalisation of marine environments, wetland conservation and agricultural biodiversity. Contributions will be made by professionals including Gabriel Borràs (Catalan Water Agency), Jordi Solina (Government of Catalonia), Cristian Jensen (Fundació Salines de la Trinitat), Marc Viñas (SEO/BirdLife), Gemma Pellisa (Alt Penedès County Council), Jordi Puig (l’Espigall Agroconsultoria), Eduard Trepat (ARCA), Ingrid Vilardaga (Associació Camí Ramader de Marina), Rosa Trujillo (Associació GENS), Josep Culvi (MónNatura Delta de l’Ebre) and Marta Salamé (Alt Penedès County Council).
