First joint meeting of socio-economic stakeholders to exchange climate adaptation experiences
On Thursday, November 21, the L’Estartit Sailing School and the L’Estartit Municipal Decentralized Entity (EMD) will host the first joint meeting of socio-economic stakeholders involved in the Life eCOadapt50 project. These stakeholders work within the project’s various territorial Living Labs to co-create and implement climate adaptation actions, and this will be their first opportunity to meet and exchange experiences.

Registrations are now open, and the program (PDF) is ready. The session will include a field visit to explore some of the actions already being implemented in the GALP Costa Brava territory.

The event is organized by IU-Rescat of the Rovira i Virgili University and the Centre for Climate Change, with support from the GALP Costa Brava and the Barcelona Provincial Council, which coordinates the project. The session will begin at 9:30 AM with a welcome by Núria Parpal, project director, and Toni Domènech, lecturer at URV/IU-RESCAT.

The first session will be led by Queralt Plana, researcher at Eurecat, who will speak on “Co-creating climate adaptation actions and replicability: the experience of the IMPETUS project.”

Next, parallel sessions will be held for the forestry and agri-livestock sectors and for the fisheries and tourism sectors, where various actions implemented under the project will be presented. These sessions will culminate in sector-specific co-creation workshops—a total of four. The conclusions will be shared in a plenary session.

After a networking lunch, and in celebration of World Fisheries Day, participants will take part in a field visit to see two project actions: a sensor for measuring sea temperature and a neoprene recycling initiative.
