Coordination Meeting ARCA-GALs in Sort to Advance Living Labs - Life eCOadapt50

Visit with Boscos de Muntanya. Author: CPLO
These rotating meetings allow participating territories to coordinate, share progress and challenges, and gain first-hand insight into the diverse territorial realities involved in the project. This session brought together most of the LAGs (Local Action Groups) involved in the project: Leader de Ponent Association, GALP Costa Brava, CLDRC, ALRGB, ADRINOC, and CLPO itself.
Monday’s session focused on monitoring the status of the project’s demonstrative actions—both those already completed and those currently underway. A joint review of the current state of the Living Labs in each territory was carried out, and new proposals were presented. Budget planning for the upcoming phases of the project was also addressed, both within the framework of Life eCOadapt50 and the 2025 Climate Fund. The meeting also covered key coordination areas such as action plans, training, communication, and financial aspects, and concluded with the agreement on the date and location of the next meeting, scheduled for September.
On Tuesday, the group Raiels, specialized in facilitating participatory processes and supporting rural groups, led a collaborative session to jointly evaluate the co-creation processes carried out so far within the Living Labs. This session enabled participants to share learnings, identify areas for improvement, and agree on proposals to systematize and replicate best practices across all participating territories.
The meeting concluded with a field visit to the forest slope restoration project in Ginestarre, in the municipality of Esterri de Cardós, led by the organization Boscos de Muntanya. This initiative applies bioengineering techniques to stabilize slopes and promote the recovery of pastures and traditional paths. It combines technical work with environmental volunteering and hands-on forest training. This action is particularly relevant in the CLPO territory, where the Life eCOadapt50 diagnosis has identified slope instability as a high risk across all counties where this LAG operates: Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà, Alta Ribagorça, and Val d’Aran.
Based on the conclusions of this meeting, ARCA and the participating LAGs will work to incorporate the lessons learned into the next phases of the Living Labs, with the aim of consolidating a shared territorial strategy within the framework of the Life eCOadapt50 project.
