A webinar discusses the management of extensive livestock farming using GPS collars
On April 9, 2026, the sixth webinar of the Life eCOadapt50 project took place, focusing on the management of extensive livestock farming through the use of GPS collars. This technological tool is becoming established as an innovative solution to improve livestock monitoring and optimize land management. During the session, the role of extensive livestock farming in the conservation of agroforestry landscapes and in fire prevention was highlighted, as well as its importance in adapting to climate change.

Different GPS collar systems were presented to the 42 attendees, highlighting their features, advantages, and possible limitations. The webinar, organized in collaboration with Unió de Pagesos de Catalunya and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, included a round table to share real experiences and discuss the application of these technologies in the sector.
